Investigation and Detection of Contamination

The country's officials launched an inquiry after the American FDA identified Caesium-137, a nuclear substance, in a consignment of frozen coated shrimp sent by an Indonesian company.

Officials issued an advisory advising suppliers and sellers to dispose of the product and avoid selling it, even though the detected level was well under the authority's intervention limit. They noted that the amount of Caesium-137 they had found would not present an immediate risk to the public.
