Rob Edwards along with Gary O'Neil represent the initial candidates in the frame to replace Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolves.

The previous coach was sacked on Sunday after the team's ten-game without a victory start to the top-flight campaign.

Furthermore both candidates - both of who have previous links to the team - are among the options to be considered by the Wolves ownership.

Edwards is presently at another club, which would create a potential obstacle to his appointment at Molineux.

However the former Luton manager - who played over a century of appearances for Wolves during his playing career - is said to be a strong candidate for the position.

The 42-year-old is reportedly enjoys backing from the club directors as they begin the search of hiring a new manager.

Gary O'Neil is also emerging as a surprise contender, even though he would be a shock choice given he was released by Wolves in the previous winter.

The former West Ham player is out of work which means the club would not be required to pay any compensation.
