Renowned Performer Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic programs including Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has passed away at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA recently after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, according to media reports.
"He never met a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones stated in a announcement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Notable Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of well-known programs, like:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find someone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.
Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, three children, and his family.
