A woman accused with stalking Kate McCann apparently left her a phone message which asked: "suppose I am Madeleine?"

Julia Wandelt, 24, who court testimony revealed has persistently declared she was the vanished Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are on trial indicted with pursuing Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February the current year.

On Monday, the court heard call records and data retrieved from phones recorded Ms Wandelt persistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a genetic test over the past two years.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is considered the most widely reported missing child cases and continues to be open.

One voicemail, presented in court, recorded Ms Wandelt stating: "I know I'm overweight and not pretty like Madeleine was, but I know what I feel."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's recording stated: "What if there is a small chance that I am Madeleine? Then what? Wouldn't that be important for you?"

"I don't want money, I possess a existence here in Poland, I simply desire to know," she added.

The tribunal was informed that through electronic messages, SMS messages and calls, Ms Wandelt requested a genetic test, transmitted youth pictures to her phone in a attempt to demonstrate a likeness to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and asserted to have "recollections" from a early life with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an intelligence analyst with law enforcement who collated the data, advised the court there "didn't appear to be any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to close associates of the McCanns, according to the communication logs.

On October 9th, 2024, the father responded to a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "incorrect contact information."

That day Ms Wandelt left a message on Mrs McCann's answerphone stating "I will continue and I plan to establish my point."

The court heard Mrs Spragg struck up a relationship through digital means with Ms Wandelt before joining her on a appearance to the McCanns' home in Leicestershire in December 2024.

Call logs revealed Mrs Spragg had reached out through communication app to Mrs McCann to say the media had characterized Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she deserved to be considered genuine in the time leading up to the trip to Rothley, the county, in December 2024.

The court was told communications between the two defendants, in that autumn, discussing trying to get Mrs McCann's genetic material from her garbage or from silverware at a eating establishment.

"We must take action," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the trip to their residence, Mrs Spragg sent a text which said: "We are positioned outside the McCanns' house with our lights out like detectives. I had hoped to accomplish this with Peter Andrew I didn't imagine I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."
